What’s Happening This Weekend In San Diego 6.28.13

This weekend is going to be HOT!!!! If you aren’t going to be at the beach or in the pool all weekend check out some events that are going on this weekend around San Diego.

Miss Pacific Islander of San Diego Scholarship Pageant (Friday 7PM) This 10th annual event presents 5 beautiful ladies of different ethnicities to represent the Hawaiian, Chamorro, and Samoan cultures. Kendrick Lamar (Friday 7:30) If you were lucky enough win tickets with us for this event Congratulations! because this event is SOLD OUT!!! Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the fair tonight so if you haven’t picked up your winning ticket make sure to stop in before we close tonight at 5:30PM. Chris Mann (Friday 8PM) You might recognize this name if you are a talent competition fan. Chris was in the second season of The Voice and now he has a record out that feature 2 song that he wrote. Known for his mix of classical and pop this crossover artist has shocked America with his voice. He will be performing at Humphrey’s so get all the information HERE.

Day Of Play (Saturday 10AM-1PM) Bring the kids out to this fun event which features hands on cooking, crafts, gardening activities, and more. Day of Play promotes healthy living and is hosted by Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center with support from First 5 San Diego. IKEA (Saturday All Day) The IKEA San Diego Marketplace Makeover is well underway making it easier and more inspiring for you to shop for your home. 17th Annual Latino Music Festival (Saturday 11AM-6PM) Bring the whole family out to this fun and free event presented by the Historic Barrio District and the Sherman Heights Community Center. There will be plenty to do at this event like walk around to the tune of live music by local artists, check out the food, art, unique hand-crafted items, and of course the cars from Impalas San Diego Car Club. Uncorked: Wine Walk (Saturday 4PM-8PM) This 1st annual event held at Westfield UTC lets you try wine from some of Temecula Valley’s finest wines and food samples from Westfield UTC’s finest restaurants. The event concludes with a concert by Michelle Branch at 7 in the Palm Plaza. Tickets are only $10 with all proceeds going to the San Diego Botanic Garden. Body Rock 2013 (Saturday 7PM- Sunday 6PM) To all the hip-hop fans out there this is a must attend event. Dance crews from all over the world come to compete against each other in this fun and energetic event. Saturday’s participants are the adult dance teams, but Sunday is Body Rock JR where all the participants are under 18! Want to try some of your skills as well? 13th Annual Taste of Adams Avenue (Sunday 11AM-3PM) If you are a food lover this event is for you. Taste a variety of food and drinks from over 30 restaurants, coffee houses, and much more as you take a stroll down the historic Adams Avenue. While you are there check out Antique Row and stop in some of the unique shops in the business corridor. Exploring Animals in Art (Saturday 1PM) If your child loves animals then this event is perfect for them. They get to learn about animals and art all at the same time. The San Diego Museum of Art is having their June Family Drop-In Days when you and the kids and can participate together in activities such as art projects, tours, and art-focused games to play in the galleries.
