What’s Happening This Weekend 7.12.13

Mission Bay “Brew-Cation” 2013 (Friday 6pm- 10pm) Kick off the weekend with a little stay-cation or in this case a brew-cation! The Firefly at The Dana on Mission Bay will be your host as you relieve stress from your work week by visiting 9 tasting stations where each of the chefs have prepared a featured item and wine pairing for you to try. As you travel from station to station you will be able to hear about the dish from the hand that made it. Also check out the art that will be on display for sell from local artists. San Diego Pride “Launch” Party (Friday 6pm-10pm) If you are looking for a more classy way to kick off your Pride weekend then a dance party in the streets check out this event! Held at the historic Burnham House in the heart of Hillcrest this event features a hosted bar, unique chefs table and a silent auction. This event is almost sold out so hurry and get your tickets HERE!

Pride of Hillcrest Block Party 2013 (Friday 7pm-11pm) Who doesn’t love a summer block party. What better way to kick of pride then a full blown block party! They are shutting down the streets of Hillcrest to throw a party on the streets! Immediately following the historical Stonewall Rally, enter the gates into the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party. Dance the night away to the sound of different DJ’s AND former Pussycat Doll, Jessica Sutta will be performing. Click HERE for all the information or to buy your tickets.

60th Annual World Championship OTL (Saturday-Sunday 7:30am-6pm) Old Mission Beach Athletic Club is holding the first weekend of their annual Over-the-Line tournament this week on Fiesta Island. Teams in all different divisions compete in three inning games with double elimination. This is a public event and requires no ticket or entrance fee to watch the games and enjoy the tournament. Christmas in July Artisan Fair (Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm) It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Christmas has come early again at this annual fundraiser for Old Mission Montessori School. Just like the mall on Christmas Eve thousands of people will be there checking out the handmade arts and craft items, many with Christmas themes! Over 150 artisans will be there displaying and selling their crafts. But that’s not all! The event also includes a rummage sale, bake sale, food court raffle, kid’s activity area and live entertainment. For a list of participants or to learn more, check out the WEBSITE.

San Diego Pride Parade (Saturday 11am-1pm) The AJ Show will be at Uptown Tavern Saturday 11am-1pm But Energy will be at Pride all day and in the parade with a float! Join the over 200,000 people that will head out to watch this parade staring off at Normal Street and University Avenue. Be proud San Diego. We have the 4th largest Pride Parade in the United States! Bastille Day (Saturday 4pm-10pm) Celebrate Bastille Day one day early by attending this 21st annual event that benefits Southern Caregiver Resource Center (SCRC) which offers services to family caregivers of adults with chronic and disabling conditions or diseases. Enjoy delightful food paired with wine and bid on the some of the beautiful silent auction items. Get all the details and buy your tickets HERE.

San Diego Blood Bank 5K Walk/Run (Sunday 7am-11am) Come out and support the San Diego Blood Bank and the participants in this 5K. Cheer on the runners as they follow the scenic route along the bay beginning and ending at Embarcadero Marina Park North at Seaport Village. Bring the whole family out to this event because there is something for everyone to do. Enjoy some food and send the kids off to the Fun Zone. Irvine Company Padres Tailgate Party (Sunday 10:30am-12:30pm) The Irvine Company is having a party before the Padres game and Hula will be out there hosting for the event.
