Comic Con has taken over San Diego! Here are some events inspired by Comic Con!
Norton “Man of Steel” Truck (Friday-Sunday 10AM-8PM) Superman fans! Haven’t you always wanted the chance to save Metropolis? Well now’s your chance. This truck contains a replica Metropolis built in where you can save the citizens of Metropolis from their digital dangers then have a green-screen photo-op with Superman to take home with you. Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival (Friday-Sunday 10AM) It’s the 14th year Comic Con has held this Independent Film Festival supporting films from all over the world. The festival celebrates all film but in honor of Comic Con has an emphasis in action/adventure, animation, comics-oriented, documentary (related to pop culture topics), horror/suspense, humor, and science fiction/fantasy films. This year’s event will be judged and the winning films will be reshown on Sunday after the awards. Check out the website to get all the INFO!
The Macabre art of A. E. Jouvin (Friday 10AM-11PM) This unique art is a part of Comic Cons art show. This group of painting will be displayed at the Haunted Hotel. Check out the WEBSITE.
Break Invaders (Friday 11AM-5PM) There are a lot of invaders this weekend, but Break is invading Comic Con this weekend. Come here for fun and food! Take a break from waking to come grab some food and check the gaming arcade or join in the Break Invaders Game Play. Check out their FACEBOOK page.
Gam3rCon 2013 (Friday- Sunday 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM) If you aren’t attending Comic Con but still want to get in on the fun check out this event featuring Video and table games going on all weekend long. Stop by and watch a film, have a blast from the past with the retrocade, or even visit on of the panels. You do need to purchase tickets for this event and you can get them HERE.
The Walking Dead Escape (Friday 5PM-10PM) Participate in this unique event where you can either try to navigate through Zombie infected Evacuation Zone, become one of the undead, or just watch all the fun. Film Con (Friday 6PM-10PM) Even if you are going to Comic Con you can still attend this event. The first annual event promotes Independent Films from San Diego and LA. If you’re interested in making films, this is a great place to market! Tickets are needed but you can get them HERE.
Heroes Brew Fest (Saturday 12PM-5PM) A Comic Con inspired Beer Festival but you do not need to have a comic con pass or even a costume to attend! This event benefits San Diego Coastkeeper and Surfrider Foundation two great causes to keep our most precious natural resource, water. You do need tickets to attend, and you can get them HERE.
