Everyone and their momma knows that Robin Thicke has had a rough year. Last summer he split from his longtime partner Paula Patton, which encouraged him to release a terrible album that was actually titled “Paula”. The album was a complete flop because it solely focuses on him pathetically pleading for Patton to come back. Then this spring, Marvin Gaye’s estate sued Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. for copyright infringement over “Blurred Lines”, which just happens to be his biggest hit yet.
After all of that, you could say a lot of things about this man, but you certainly can not call him a quitter.
This summer he has done his best job at revitalizing his career with releasing two summer jams with “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” with Flo Rida and “Morning Sun” and now he just went on “Good Morning America” to showcase his most recent single Back Together and I really thought he did a marvelous job. His voice sounded great live and the song in general is an absolute hit. Unfortunately, Nicki Minaj couldn’t make the performance, but I sure didn’t mind Robin’s solo version one bit!
Only time will tell if Robin can dig his way out of the gigantic hole that he has put himself in, but he is off to a great start.
