Mary J. Blige connects with Empire‘s Taraji P. Henson and Scandal’s Kerry Washington for an Apple Music commercial that dropped Sunday (Sept. 20), the same day Drake and Future released their new mixtape on Apple’s streaming service.
The one-minute spot jumps off with Taraji and Kerry walking up to Blige’s house to kick back and listen to music. Mary brings out a box of mixtapes and puts them aside for Apple’s streaming service. The ladies can be seen air-drumming to Phil Collins‘ “In the Air Tonight” and jamming (wopping) to Busta Rhymes‘ “Touch It (Vocal Up)” and Puff Daddy‘s “It’s All About the Benjamins.”
The commercial drops as Drake and Future previewed their collabo mixtape, What A Time To Be Alive, on Apple’s Streaming channel, giving the music channel a major boost in the urban music space.
