After an apparent suicide attempt put Kehlani in the hospital, her ex-boyfriend and Cleveland Cavaliers player Kyrie Irving spoke out on Twitter, offering her love and support.
The tweets no longer appear on Irving’s account, but Vibe captured them before they were deleted. After explaining that he and Kehlani were not dating when a photo of her and rapper PartyNextDoor circulated online, he tweeted, “It’s unfortunate that it’s received so much attention but its become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood.”
He added in a final tweet, “Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus the Game I love to play every night.”
It’s a nice show of support considering Chris Brown criticized Kehlani’s suicide attempt in a tweet that called her out for using social media to gain sympathy and support from her followers.
