3, 000 Gallon Sewage Spill Closes Coronado’s Glorietta Bay

By Evonne Ermey

Glorietta Bay in Coronado closed Tuesday due to a 3,725 gallon sewage spill that occurred in two nearby locations, San Diego County officials report.

The sewage escaped near the Bluewater Boathouse Seafood and Grill and the Glorietta Bay Boat Launch, with the majority coming from the second location.

Areas of Glorietta Bay within 500 ft. of Blue Water Boathouse and within 1,000 ft. of the Boat Launch are closed to water contact while water samples are collected to test water quality impact.

Warning signs have been posted in the affected areas.
